Position Title: Financial Aid Consultant (Functional and/or Technical)
Salary Range: Competitive
Location: Remote; live anywhere in the U.S.
Travel: 80%
General Description: Multiple positions available. Financial Aid Consultant (Functional and/or Technical) is responsible for delivering services to colleges and universities throughout the country. Consultant will be expected to work with institutional staff to conduct operational reviews, prepare assessment reports, and create improvement plans using a quality assurance approach for overall improvements in financial aid operations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with clients to identify and address, through improvement plans, financial aid compliance and operational (e.g., workflow) issues. This may include serving as an acting director of financial aid, middle management duties, or performing standard day-to-day financial aid processing.
- Research complex regulatory issues and provide concise analysis and recommendations.
- Conduct operational reviews and prepare comprehensive reports of findings.
- Lead training sessions on financial aid issues individually or in groups.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree;
- Eight years of progressive financial aid experience;
- Ability to organize and deliver training in financial aid requirements;
- Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulatory requirements;
- Experience with automation and major financial aid information systems;
- Experience in financial aid operations and system improvements and the ability to prepare corrective action plans;
- Demonstrated strong writing and verbal communication skills;
- Skilled user of Microsoft Office products; and
- Three or more years of experience with SCT Banner, Datatel required; other major student information systems preferred.
