With more than 30 years of experience, Ms. Wilkins joins ECG with a wealth of knowledge and understanding in the financial aid arena. Historically, she has witnessed all the changing trends in this industry and how it has impacted higher education and has found innovative ways to remain resilient during those times and succeed.
If an opportunity arises to improve operations she is first to take advantage of the prospect and integrate the information into the organizational structure promoting efficiency and a university wide team approach to managing enrollments. For example, using technology, Ms. Wilkins streamlined the financial aid department’s operations from manual and paper driven to automation and paperless freeing staff work loads to focus on families. In addition, she updated the student loan process which generated additional revenue to be used as additional need based aid for students.
Renowned in the higher education community for her training techniques to promote a quality and highly motivated staff, many of her former employees have moved on to positions of increased responsibilities and are successful. During her 18 years as the Director of Financial Aid, Ms. Wilkins passed every federal audit and retained the default rate to a minimum.
Ms. Wilkins feels that for an institution to reach its full potential all phases of enrollment management must function as a cohesive group and be constantly reviewing and analyzing their operational structure to meet the changing demands of the higher education culture.
