Karen uses her broad skill set in the areas of financial aid administration, policy analysis, and technology implementation to administer various aspects of client services for ECG. She also works directly with school clients to support their operational goals.
Key Experience and Skills
Karen gained strong accounting and financial aid expertise over the past 18 years in positions at Wayne State University, Concordia University, the University of California at Irvine, and Kennesaw State University. In addition to day-to-day financial aid processing, her experience includes:
- Reporting and reconciling federal and state grant funds.
- Multi-year budgeting and planning of multi-million dollar merit and need based scholarship programs.
- Automating processes for certifying student loans and evaluating institutional scholarship applications.
- Developing, writing, and implementing office policies and procedures and technical specifications.
- Defining requirements, developing and implementing financial aid management system.
Highlights of Accomplishments
Shortly after joining ECG in 2007, Karen worked to automate the company's deliverable review process. At Kennesaw State University, she launched and staffed the university's financial aid call center, and instituted a lender review process to apply consistent standards for evaluating prospective lenders for the school's preferred lender list.
