as a financial aid advisor, then serving as a technical programmer
for financial aid and finally becoming a Financial Aid Director
at Banner College, Ms. Sturgis offers higher education institutions
technical expertise on how to implement successful software
programs while understanding that quality student customer service
is essential to an institution’s core values and life
cycle.
At Armstrong Atlantic State University, Ms.
Sturgis acquired skills in processing student financial aid
and working with numerous software applications. She researched
the latest information regarding federal and state regulations
as they applied to financial aid to ensure the university’s
financial aid office was in compliance. She performed workshops
for new and continuing students as well as advising them on
the entrance and exit interviews.
Ms. Sturgis gained more knowledge on the technical
side of financial aid at the Savannah College for Art Design.
She became knowledgeable with a variety of programs such as
Banner, Telnet, COD and Suffer, and she was able to use these
systems to efficiently meet deadlines and improve the overall
operations for the administration of Title IV Federal Student
Aid. In her capacity as Financial Aid Director at the Banner
College, High-Tech Institute, she was heavily involved in
the technical administration of disbursement of funds, loan
processing, tracking reports, Return of Title IV funds, Accounts
Receivable, and packaging.
Ms. Sturgis is a welcome asset to the ECG’s
technical solutions for higher education combined with her
strong ability to efficiently implement a process that meets
all federal, state, and institutional compliances.
